In today’s contemporary society, a government has a significant mission related to its residents to ensure their safety. Hence, some strongly believe that the authorities should be encouraged to foster the expansion of defense instead of spending more attention and money on social advantages. In my eyes, I think that I partly agree with this statement, and I would like to explore this view further in this essay.
On one hand, citizens’ safety is considered an important and prevalent issue in regards to a country’s government. To be specific, the authorities should positively assign a large number of policies which are considerably impacted on better inhabitants’ defense. One way or another, those approaches can be more likely to help people protect themselves in a better way, or even maintain the stability of population density in a particular nation. This has led to a more tranquil and peaceful society and the development of their health condition. Vietnam, for example, is a country which have citizens been equipped with the latest developments and discoveries relating to the way they protect themselves while dealing with unexpected circumstances such as robberies or even worse, murders.
On the other hand, spending more attention and money on social upsides is also an integral part of our lives, especially for the unprivileged and the old. This is pretty valuable simply because this method can give citizens more access to social welfare benefits in order to cover all expenses and ensure that people living in a particular country may survive and develop in this fast-paced life. But more than anything, it may become the bonds of their close-knit relationship that get them through arduous current events such as floods, earthquakes, and so on.
In conclusion, some think that a government should increase spending on defense more than social benefits. But from my perspective, I acknowledge and understand that a country may be able to thrive when it achieves equilibrium.
