Some people believe that it has adverse impacts on both sides of medical and social areas in daily life. Therefore, I go for the support that mobile phones have a bad impact on the medical and social sides of people’s lives, which leads to health problems like sleep disorders and a loss of face-to-face interactions.
The excessive use of mobile phones before sleep disrupts the physical condition through a disturbance in the normal flow of circadian rhythms, suppresses melatonin production, and engenders persistent fatigue and daytime drowsiness. Thus, such individuals experience an inability to concentrate and mood swings under conditions of reduced cognitive function due to poor sleep caused by exposure to the phone, which in turn limits mental recovery and the overall psychological balance. Further, the continuous sleep disruption due to smartphone dependency weakens the bodily resilience, heightens the levels of stress, and gradually deteriorates the general well-being by affecting daily performance and health stability.
The overdependence on smartphones reduces face-to-face communication, shifting focus to online interactions where emotional exchange is limited, thereby weakening basic social skills in everyday situations. It can also create social isolation, in which a person prefers virtual contact to real relationships. The eventual effect is reduced empathy and an absence of understanding and human touch in relationships. Over time, this reduced social interaction, caused by overuse of smartphones, brings out negative changes in mental state, with an increase in feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and discontent with one’s emotions in life.
Therefore, I agree that mobile phones have a bad influence on people’s lives.
As it was shown, they can damage health by sleep disturbances and reduce real-life communication, further leading to social isolation. Therefore, excessive smartphone use clearly has injurious effects on both medical and social spheres of everyday life.
