It is commonly assumed that the way global media reports on celebrities is recently having a negative impact on the cognition of younger generations worldwide. In my opinion, I strongly agree that influencers is now altering the way children and teenagers live and think.
The primary reason explaining for the substantial media coverage of celebrities is unremitting development of technological gadgets and social platforms. Many individuals is unconsciously appealed by short clips which are very attractive and do not take so much time to finish each one. Therefore, youngsters, for example, are frequently observed following their favorite TikTokers or YouTubers then watching and learning every single action or habit of their preferred stars, no matter how bad it is. As a result, negative daily routines coming from famous individuals are now causing some drawbacks and making young kids shape unhealthy lifestyles.
Another reason for this phenomenon is the curiosity of children about the world around and also the deep desire of adolescents for being flawless and attractive. To be specific, they consider popular stars as perfect role models for them to become, thereby chasing every luxurious and even financially draining lifestyles including buying extremely expensive purses or devices and even smoking just to pretend to be like their favourite singers or content creators. For example, in Viet Nam, especially in some developing cities, it is not very hard to see school-aged children and juveniles wearing like their preferred idols and K-pop singers. This results in kids not engaging in age-appropriate activities although they are supposed to do.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that the significant influence of popular individuals is now negatively altering the way youngsters shape their minds and lifestyles.
