In recent years, the negative impact of vehicles powered by fossil fuels on the environment has significantly increased and people are arguing that those kinds of cars ought to be prohibited with electric alternatives. In my point of view, I strongly agree with that opinion because it will help reduce pollution and support sustainable development.
Firstly, banning vehicles using petrol or diesel can improve air quality. Those vehicles release harmful gases such as carbon dioxide or nitrogen oxide, which contribute to global warming and serious health issues. In big cities, air pollution from the traffic is a major concern. For instance, the sky in Bangkok is usually polluted every morning because of the over usage of vehicles using petrol or diesel. Replacing those cars with electric vehicles, which produce no emission, can lead to cleaner air and healthier living conditions.
Secondly, switching to electric vehicles help save natural resources and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are limited and eventually run out. On the other hand, electric vehicles can be powered by renewable energy sources like solar and wind. This makes them more sustainable in the long term and better for the environment.
However, it is true that electric vehicles are still expensive and charging stations are not always easy to find. Despite this, many governments are investing in electric vehicle technology and providing financial support to make it more affordable. For instance, the Vietnamese government is building subways in Ho Chi Minh City for the purpose to reduce the usage of vehicles powered by fossil fuels and for the people to use more conveniently.
In conclusion, I believe that banning fossil-fuels powered vehicles and then replacing them with the electric ones is a smart and necessary step. Although there are some challenges, the long-term environmental and health benefits make the decision for the future.
