It is widely argued that computers will take the place of traditional teachers in the near future. From my perspective, while I acknowledge the reasons behind this thinking, I strongly believe that teachers still play an essential role that can not be replaced by technology in the educational area.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that computers are beneficial in education. Firstly, using computers makes lessons more attractive and joyful through different features such as images, videos, animations, and so on. Secondly, students have access to a great deal of educational information immediately whenever they need it when studying with computers . Moreover, they are able to study everywhere despite physical restrictions because they just need a phone or a computer that is connected to the internet.
On the other hand, technology is not able to understand pupils’ emotions, and assist them to resolve their problems quickly and evidently while traditional lecturers can help them to overcome their difficulties by listening and providing efficient resolutions to address them. Teachers are not only individuals who convey a wealth of knowledge but also listeners. Furthermore, utilizing computers can lead learners to misunderstandings by generating ideas that are not in exact and suitable contexts. In addition, when technology gradually takes the place of teachers, students who dream to be teachers in the future can be confused, worried, and lose their motivation.
In conclusion, although devices are advantageous for students and teachers in learning and educating, I still believe that computers are not a proper supplant of traditional lectures.
