A recent experience that makes me a strong candidate for this exchange program is when I led a team for a school project that involved conducting interview-based research. Our task was to gather information from experts through interviews and present our findings. While we thought it would be easy at first, we quickly realized that organizing and conducting the interviews was more challenging than expected.
Many of the people we reached out to were either unavailable or difficult to contact. As the team leader, I took charge of organizing the project and making sure we stayed on track. I divided the tasks among my teammates, assigning some to draft questions while I focused on following up with potential interviewees and finding new contacts when needed. It required a lot of patience and communication, but we eventually secured interviews with a few experts who gave us valuable insights.
After gathering all the information, we worked together to analyze it and create a presentation. The project turned out to be more rewarding than we expected because we used first-hand knowledge. Leading this project taught me how to manage a team, solve problems, and adapt when things don’t go as planned.
I believe this experience will help me in the exchange program because I’ll need to collaborate with new people, handle unexpected challenges, and think creatively in different situations. Leading my team showed me the importance of staying organized and motivated, and I’m confident these skills will help me succeed during the exchange.
