Many company directors and managers are older individuals, while some people believe younger people are suitable for leadership roles. I partially agree with this statement, as younger leaders bring a lot of energy and brilliant innovation, although they may lack experience and still require guidance from older generations.
One main reason why companies or organizations need younger directors and managers is that they still have a lot of energy to motivate their teams to perform better, while older people may have lower energy because they are getting older. With a passionate leader, many people, such as employees or even peers, will become motivated and work harder to achieve better results. Most of the groundbreaking innovations have come from younger individuals, as demonstrated by the creation of successful companies such as Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft.
Although younger people have a lot of advantages, they still lack experience and need guidance from older people. Older managers or leaders have made many wrong decisions and experienced many difficult situations, as a result, they clearly have more knowledge and a better perspective to avoid the same mistakes. For instance, they can supervise the younger generations and lead them in the right direction. In addition, older people are better at stabilizing their emotions than younger individuals; therefore, they can supervise younger generations and help them maintain good mental health.
In conclusion, it is necessary to give younger people opportunities to take on leadership roles such as chairman or manager, while the guidance of older individuals is still essential to ensure effective decision-making.
