Band 8+: every country should have free health servuce, even thi smeans that the latest medical treatments may not be availble throughthe service because they aree too expensive. to what extenet do you agree or disgree

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is often argued that healthcare services should be provided free of charge, even if this leads to limited access to the latest medical treatments due to their high cost. While some people believe that basic healthcare must be universally accessible, others argue that expensive treatments should also be available, at least to some extent. This essay will examine both perspectives before presenting my own view.

On the one hand, individuals from low- and middle-income groups often delay seeking medical attention because they cannot afford costly healthcare services. As a result, minor health issues may develop into more serious conditions. If essential medical services are provided free of charge, people are more likely to receive early diagnosis and timely treatment, which can significantly improve public health outcomes. Furthermore, free access to basic healthcare would reduce inequality and ensure that all individuals, regardless of their financial situation, receive necessary medical care.

On the other hand, governments typically operate under strict budget constraints, making it unrealistic to provide all medical treatments at no cost. Advanced procedures and modern medical technologies are extremely expensive, and fully funding them could place an unsustainable burden on public finances. This may result in overcrowded healthcare facilities, increased waiting times, and added pressure on medical professionals. Therefore, it would be more practical for governments to subsidise expensive treatments partially, rather than offering them entirely free of charge.

In conclusion, although it is not feasible to provide all healthcare services for free, essential medical care should be universally accessible to ensure early treatment and fairness. At the same time, costly treatments can be partially funded to maintain the sustainability and quality of healthcare systems. This balanced approach is the most effective way to address both accessibility and financial limitations.
