The center of attention of full-time university students is on academic studies. However, some individuals believe that students should participate in additional activities. In my point of view, undergraduates should include extracurriculars such as swimming, running or art and music curriculums, as it helps enhance a person’s endurance, confidence and academic performance.
Including the physical activities in stedents’ daily routines, it improves health and qualities such as calmness, stamina, and strength. Moreover, students start to appreciate time and value their own opportunities. For instance, when students regularly go to the gym or participate in swimming, they learn to follow a schedule and set personal goals. Improving concentration and focus leads to better academic performance, as students will be more focused during classes and exams.
The second reason why it is crucial is that creative activities, such as art and music programs, help to relax after facing difficult and brainstorming studies. As it known, out-of-class activities can unlock other distinctive character traits as well. For instance, performing songs in front of the an audience or at concerts make a person more confident and ad aptable. Also, art encourages creative thinking, which develops your imagination and create new ideas.
In conclusion, I believe that university studies are not the be-all and the end-all, maintaining health and well-being equally important. Extracurricular activities such as swimming, art, music, and other programs provide many possibilities, which can enhance personal development and academic performance. Engaging in these activities students build essential skills such as discipline, time management, and creativity.
