In today’s world, the development of industrialization and modernization has created several negative impacts on plant and animal species. While some individuals are of the opinion that the damage is irreversible, others think that this problem can be improved by some effective solutions . Although both schools of thought offer merit, I agree more with the view that useful measures can promote the recovery of this situation.
On the one hand, there are some persuasive rationales that support the claim that no measures can effectively solve this problem. Our surrounding environment is being damaged by human activities such as the overuse of natural resources and pollutants from industrial activities. In more detail, this issue has resulted in the depletion of finite non-renewable energy sources like coal or petroleum, as well as global warming which immediately leads to other extreme weather conditions. In addition, rapid industrialization, urban sprawl, and deforestation have driven countless species to extinction as their habitats are removed. This problem further exacerbates the ecological imbalance as no methods can bring extinct species back to life.
On the other hand, another compelling argument is that this situation can be improved if we take meaningful actions.With the advancement of technology and modern devices, people have more tools and knowledge to reduce pollution, preserve various species of animals and foster the recovery process of vulnerable areas. Moreover, governments and other non-profit organisations are implementing policies regarding banning fossil fuels, protecting endangered species and reducing pollutants from industrial zones. These activities place significant strain on businesses and raise global awareness, encouraging them to take concerted actions to restore the ecosystem.
In conclusion, although some environmental damage may be irreversible, I believe that effective measures and technological advancements can help reduce negative impacts and promote the recovery of ecosystems.
