Considerable impacts on the environment caused by human activities have become a heated topic of debate. Some individuals believe that tackling these environmental issues is impossible, while others argue that positive changes can still be made to reverse the current situation. Personally, I suppose that if urgent actions are taken, the aforementioned problems can eventually be resolved.
Those who believe it is too late to improve environmental problems often point to the extinction of animals and the alarming rate of global warming. Chief among these issues is that human activities, such as hunting and poaching, are the main culprits behind the disappearance of numerous flora and fauna species. Consequently, this leads to an imbalance in the ecosystem, disrupting the food chain, and unfortunately, there are no feasible approaches to revive those extinct species. Another argument is that the substantial increase in industrial production, combined with excessive deforestation, has exacerbated global warming. It is a bitter truth that efforts to reduce the world’s average temperature, once it rises significantly, will eventually prove fruitless.
Nevertheless, I firmly believe that fostering environmental awareness among citizens and enhancing global cooperation are effective measures to address this issue. Regarding the former, when people are fully aware of the detrimental impacts of their actions on the environment, numerous campaigns and workshops are organized to promote environmentally friendly lifestyles. For instance, using canvas bags instead of plastic ones has become increasingly popular among young people. Furthermore, various international environmental laws have been established based on global agreements. Governments, for example, have made great efforts to eradicate destructive habits and save endangered species by raising funds to preserve their natural habitats.
In conclusion, although human activities pose serious threats to the environment, including the loss of biodiversity and the rising rate of global warming, I believe that feasible solutions, such as raising public awareness and strengthening international cooperation, can effectively alleviate these problems.
