Band 7+: If children behave badly should their parents take responsibility and also be punished? State your answer and give your reasons. Or if a five year old commits a crime (any kind), should his/her parents accept responsibility and how should they be punished. What is the age of o child when parents no longer hove the responsibility of o child's behavior?

The issue of whether parents should be held responsible for the misconduct of their children has been a controversial subject in the last couple of decades. Although there are some valid arguments that parents are not solely responsible for the poor behavior of their children, I believe, without any doubts, parents must be held accountable. In this essay I shall present my reasons.

First and foremost, undoubtedly, parents are the only people responsible for bringing their children into life. Therefore, they are in charge of teaching their children the appropriate manners. Also, if parents be aware of the fact that they will be held responsible for the misconduct of their children, they will put more effort and time into raising their kids and teaching them the right values, which would result in less crime, committed by juniors.

Secondly, if parents are not held responsible for the actions of their children, numerous problems will occur in the society. For instance, many children will face imprisonment as they are not completely aware of the consequences of their actions. Moreover, people will keep bringing more human into this world as they will not consider the importance of their decision and its massive impacts, which will affect us all. Hence, I believe people must be held responsible for the misconduct of their children until a certain age, which is generally accepted as eighteen based on the process of brain development in most countries, or chaos will conquer our society.

Evidences indicate that the best way to diminish crimes, conducted by youths, is making their parents accountable and punishing those inconsiderate guardians by making them to pay heavy fines. I believe, implementing that method will create a sense of sympathy inside families as no children tend to put their parents into misery.

By way of conclusion, I would like to reaffirm my position that, caretakers must be held responsible for the misbehavior of their kids since they are solely responsible for bringing them into life, and it is their duty to teach them the right values. (340 Words)
