Railway is an important means of public transport. Numerous people agree that a great sum of government funds should be allocated for constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities.

Constructing new rail lines can lead to several advantages for the economy. This is because trains are fast compared to other public transport like buses. As a result, time will be saved and citizens will be able to utilize that time into more productive activities than wasting it on the road. Furthermore, people who travel by bus often get stuck in traffic and may end up getting late for work. Travelling by fast trains will help to prevent work delays and efficiency in the workplace will improve. Moreover, fast trains between cities will also make it easier for citizens to plan out tours on weekend as the duration of journey is less. This will enable citizens to have a happier lifestyle as they will be able to balance their work and personal life cordially.

On the contrary, constructing new railway lines requires great deal of land, infrastructure and money. Many developing countries like Bangladesh, India, Bhutan might not have sufficient amount of resourcesto fund vast railway projects. Additionally, it takes several years to build new railway lines, therefore, positive outcomes will only be distinguishable in the long run. Spending on other existing public transport, like buses, is much more uncomplicated and requires lesser resources and could lead to more beneficial results in the short run.

In my opinion, building railways requires a great deal of time of money but it is a much better option compared to buses as trains saves time, can accommodate more people and cover long distances faster than buses. Hence, I think it is necessary to spend large amount of money for having very fast trains between cities.
