Nowadays, people use digital connection in their workplaces and face-to-face meetings are not that much popular. In my view, the benefits of online connection outweigh the drawbacks.
To begin with, there are some advantages about online communication. Firstly, when you do not go to workplace you can save your time for more important things. This means that, you do not have to spend many hours on traffic congestion and you can use your time to improve your skills and to learn new things. Moreover, online meetings are more convenient than face-to-face meetings and you can wear what you want and even, you can go anywhere to join to your meeting. For example, if you like to work in a café or your friend’s house it does not matter. To continue, online working is really great for people with disorders and limitations such as pregnant women and parents who have to take care of their children. Therefore, if someone has health problems and need a job to earn money, online working can be really helpful for them.
By contrast, there are some disadvantages about online connection. Primarily, in face-to-face connection you can see other people and understand their world and opinion clearly, but in online meeting misunderstanding is really common because you could not see people’s body language. Also in online technology cybercrime is really common and your data and information do not have enough safety. Furthermore, today hackers can hack our computer and have easy access to your company information.
To sum up, technology make us to use online communication more than face-to-face meetings. While I believe the merits of online communication such as convenient are more than the demerits like cybercrime.
