In some countries, an increasing number of graduates and working adults continue to live with their parents after completing their education or finding a job. While this trend offers certain advantages, such as financial support and emotional comfort, it also carries several disadvantages, such as a lack of independence and personal responsibility. In my opinion, although there are some benefits, the disadvantages overweigh the advantages.
One major advantage of this trend is the convenience of living with parents. Individuals do not need to worry about daily responsibilities, such as cooking or cleaning, as these task are often handled by their family members. All of the essential housework will be done by their parent, particularly by a mother. Moreover, it also provides financial security, as young adults do not worry about paying the rent or running out of money. In addition, parents may offer financial support, which reduces stress and gives an opportunity to focus more on studies or career.
However, this trend also has significant disadvantages, such as lack of independence, delayed maturity, and reliance on parents. Individuals who have reached to a certain age and work at a job must learn to become independent and rely only on themselves. Such individuals are more likely to succeed in various aspect of their life, either it is career development or it is personal relationships. As they become independent and responsible, problem-solving skills and ability to cope with difficulties also develop. For example, even if they face any arduous situation at work and come home where they also have to take care of the house and themselves, enhances their resilience.
In conclusion, although living with parents provides comfort and financial support, it can limit personal growth and independence. Therefore, I believe that disadvantages of this trend overweigh advantages, as developing independence is essential for long-term success.
