One of the major causes for the increasing weight of the people is their way of living. People don’t need to do hard labor work anymore, almost all the work is done in computer sitting on a chair. People don’t even need to get out of their house to get food, the markets and restaurants are just one click away. This trend is making people lazy which is contributing in weight gain eventually leading to different health problems such as blood pressure or diabetes. For instance, people are lazy or don’t have time to cook, they order it form restaurant which gets delivered till their doorstep. This is an everyday practice of many individuals which is one of the main reasons for weight gain.
There are many ways through which this problem can be addressed, one being taxation on food products which are not healthy. When the government increases the revenue on the food such as chips, carbonated drinks, fried preserved food which are not healthy at all, and decrease the tax on healthy food such as fruits and vegetables people might go for cheaper option compared to the expensive food. For example, the price of coke is Rs 100 and price of sugarcane juice is just Rs 60, people would prefer cheaper option over the expensive ones.
In conclusion, The health of people in some countries are declining while their weight is increasing and the reason behind it is their lifestyle. The government of the country could play a major role in solving such issue by increasing the tax on unhealthy food and drinks.
