In recent years, the use of robots has been increasing rapidly, and humans are being replaced by machines in many occupation. Although this phenomenon presents some threats, I believe that it offers several benefits that outweigh the disadvantages.
On the one hand, replacing workmen with robots comes with potential disadvantages. One of those concerns is the possibility of rising the number of unemployment. In other words, many workers might lose their job if they are replaced, such as substituting many cashiers with self- service machines. In addition, the high costs of buying, repairing and programming these machines will be a huge financial burden for many companies. That means that this advanced trend would be able only for those who can afford its price, as a consequence it would widen the gap between companies and industries
On the other hand, the use of robots brings significant merits for various industries. One of the major advantages is increasing productivity and efficiency in manufacturing, because these machines can work continuously without rest and they do many tasks accurately and quickly. Another important factor is improving safety in high- risk workplaces such as mines and construction sites. Therefore it would reduce the risk of accidents and protect workers’ lives. For instance, many car companies use robots in their factories to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of injuries.
In conclusion, while the replacement of humans with machines in some jobs offers several benefits, such as increasing productivity and enhancing safety, it also has some drawbacks, such as the exorbitant cost of robots and the rise in unemployment. Hence, I firmly believe that the advantages of this trend exceed the disadvantages.
