As a result of technological advances, anyone nowadays can have their own smartphones to capture and share their photographs, this development has led to the decline in professional photographers. I fully agree with this view because of the impressive smartphones that have developed and the impact of social media as a whole.
Firstly, smartphones nowadays are becoming more useful with the development of better cameras on the latest version. This is especially true with the newest versions of the Iphone, which boast a 48 mega pixel specification, and can be more powerful than some professional cameras offer. Moreover, in the past, people buy advanced cameras to use a fitter setting, or by changing the ISO, these tools can now be available in only a small smartphone. As a result, ordinary users can take professional-looking photographs without requiring specialised equipment or technical knowledge.
Secondly, the widespread use of social media is another reason why professional photographers are on the decline. Platforms such as Instagram or Locket allow users to capture every moment and share it immediately to their friends. Unlike traditional cameras, where individuals have to fix settings and transform photos to their own phone. This convenience has changed people’s habits, as many individuals now prioritize speed and convenience over professional quality. As a result, the demand for professional photographers in everyday situations has decreased significantly.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that technological innovations have reduced the importance of advanced photographers. The improvement of smartphone cameras and the growth of social media have made photography easier, faster, and more accessible to the general public.
