In recent years, more and more individuals have been consuming money in order to obtain a youthful appearance. This phenomenon has attracted widespread attention and sparked debate. This essay will explore the reasons behind this trend and explain why I view it as a detrimental development.
There are several key reasons why this trend has become increasingly common. Firstly, many people believe that their youth was the happiest period of their lives. Therefore, maintaining a young appearance reflects their nostalgia for youth life. Secondly, looking young is now a fashion trend, especially in Asian countries. People may get a lot of praise from others if they look younger than their actual age. For example, if a 35-year-old celebrity looks like a university student, with actual age for 35, they will be highly admired by fans. Influenced by others’ opinion, as a result, is another crucial factor why many individuals pursue young appearance.
However, I believe this is a negative development. Common ways to cope with aging problem include using costly anti-aging products or having cosmetic surgeries, while both of which are not entirely safe. Many people has been disfigured because of failed surgery or unapproved products, resulting in the exact opposite effect as they expect. Furthermore, these costly procedures can lead to overspending by individuals who are concerned about their appearance but lack the financial means, sometimes even resulting in personal bankruptcy. Therefore, the drawbacks seem to outweigh the benefits in this case
In conclusion, there are various reasons behind this trend, including intention to recall youthful memories and pressure from societal expectations. While some may argue that it brings certain benefits, I firmly believe it is a negative development due to its potential detrimental health risks and financial consequences.
