It is argued that there is no requirement(it is unnecessary) to visit another country in order to absorb authentic culture due to the accessibility of the internet. I am of the opinion that realistic feelings cannot be replaced by looking at (looking up) only information on the screens because it leads to lack of first hand experience and misunderstanding in deceptive information.
In my opinion > From my perspective, I agree that/disagree that…..
First and foremost, the reason why individuals desire to travel to other countries instead of utilizing the internet is that they could perceive the countries’ heritage directly. As a result, tourists are able to gain more cultural insight than those who have not visited that specific country. Moreover, those foreigners who have gone abroad can be appreciative of the particular countries’ uniqueness. For example, visitors coming into Thailand genuinely like Thai traditional cuisine. Hence, the internet cannot replace first hand experience.
Furthermore, the use of the internet can lead to people’s misunderstanding of different cultures due to deceptive/false/biased/ information presented. This is another significant point that negatively has an impact the most on people’s perception and countries as the biased information/narratives can be twisted and used as a weapon to slander or accuse other countries. For example, Thailand has been presented as a developing country that is uncivilised and often rides elephants in order to commute as few vehicles exist. Therefore, if individuals go to an actual place, they can ensure that they can perceive more accurate information. Moreover, traveling to the actual location can increase visibility of that country and boost up the country’s economy.
In conclusion, although only looking up the information on the internet has some merits, I firmly believe that going to an actual place is the more logical/beneficial/effective approach. Looking ahead, it is vital to experience local food, people, and heritage of other countries since people would be more appreciative of other country’s culture and get more accurate information.
