Some people believe that the extinction of animal species is a natural process and that humans should not try to prevent it. Others argue that people have a responsibility to protect endangered animals. I disagree with the idea that we should simply allow extinction to happen. Overall, although extinction has always existed in nature, the main reasons animals are disappearing today are related to human activities, so action must be taken to stop it.
One the one hand most modern extinctions are caused by humans rather than natural events. Activities such as deforestation, pollution, and illegal hunting destroy animal habitats and reduce their populations. For example, many forest animals lose their homes when trees are cut down for agriculture or construction. Unlike dinosaurs, which became extinct because of natural disasters, animals today suffer mainly because of human actions. Therefore, people have a moral responsibility to protect species from disappearing.
On the second hand every species plays an important role in maintaining ecological balance. If one animal becomes extinct, it can affect many others in the food chain. For instance, predators control the population of smaller animals, while insects such as bees help pollinate plants that produce food for humans. Without these species, ecosystems could collapse, which would also harm human life. This shows that preventing extinction is necessary not only for animals but also for people.
In conclusion, although extinction is a natural phenomenon, the current rate of animal loss is mainly caused by human activities. For this reason, people should take responsibility and make efforts to protect endangered species in order to preserve the balance of nature and the future of humanity. Protecting wildlife is important for future generations.
