Nowadays, it is undeniable that the media has a tremendous impact on people’s lives. This essay will discuss both pros and cons of this with relevant examples.
First and foremost, Internet communication makes business development and advertising much easier than it used to be several decades ago. For example, 30 years ago, some companies had to make a list of paper with their products or spend a big amount of expenditure in order to show it in TVs. Advertising systems became easier thanks to platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook just by creating videos or posting some photos online. Moreover, thanks to the media, simple people can start their business and make the living.
On the other hand, social media has its own demerits exacerbating someone’s state of mind. For instance, it has been observed that adolescents spend around 6-9 hours per day, chatting with peers, scrolling on the Tiktok, instead of paying attention to their education or sport activities. Furthermore, by the influence of the media currently, people tend to be naive and trustful for any kind of information. Consequently, individuals can be the victims of online crimes or misinformation about some news or even about diagnosis. Internet can also spread dangerous and harmless content, so that people from all ages can have cognitive illnesses.
All things considered, it can be concluded that although the media facilitated our lives, we also have to take into account its’ drawbacks to people’s health.
