In recent times, it has been observed that celebrities promoting various products. Some believe that advertising can be beneficial for businesses, while it may persuade to buy things that they do not need and may lead to loss of trust which seen more important, in my opinion.
On the of the benefits of such advertising products is that businesses can become more successful. For instance, famous people have a large number of followers, so when they promote a product, it quickly become a popular and reaches a wide audience. This helps companies attract more customers and of course increase their sales. Moreover, people often trust celebrities they admire, which makes them more willing to try new products, when a famous athlete promotes a particular brand of sport shoes, many their fans may decide to buy the same shoes because they believe the product is high quality and reliable. As a result, company sales can increase significantly.
On the other hand, celebrity endorsements can persuade people to buy items they do not actually need. This can lead to unnecessary spending and overconsumption. For example, when Rihanna promotes her brand Fenty Beauty, many fans feel encouraged to purchase new makeup collections because of new design, even if they already own similar things. As a result, consumers may end up buying more products than necessary just because they admire the celebrity.
In addition, it may cause a loss of trust. If celebrities promote low-quality or harmful products and people have negative experiences, they may feel disappointed or even face problems. For example, Kim Kardashian once promoted a weight-loss product on social media that many consumers reported as ineffective and causing side effects. As a result, some fans felt misled and started unfollow, which damaged both their trust in the product and in the celebrity’s support.
In conclusion, although celebrity endorsements have certain advantages, I believe the negative aspects such as encouraging people to buy unnecessary items and potentially causing a loss of trust are more significant.
