Band 7+: Major cities in the world are growing fast, as well as their problems. What are the problems that young people living in those cities are facing?Suggest some solutions

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

As cities around the world continue to grow, young people face a variety of challenges. One major problem is the high cost of living. With increasing population and limited space, rent and daily expenses in urban areas have risen significantly. This makes it difficult for young people, especially students and early-career workers, to afford housing and meet their basic needs.

Another issue is the lack of affordable housing. As cities expand, demand for accommodation increases, and many young people are forced to live in overcrowded areas or far from their workplaces or schools. This can lead to long commutes, which cause stress and waste time that could be better spent on work or studies.

Furthermore, the pressure to succeed in highly competitive environments can lead to mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. The fast-paced life and constant pressure to perform well in education or career contribute to this.

To address these issues, governments can focus on building more affordable housing and improving public transportation, so young people can find comfortable homes and easily travel to work or study. Additionally, cities should invest in mental health services, offering counseling and support to young people who may feel overwhelmed. Creating more green spaces and community centers would also help improve quality of life. By addressing these challenges, cities can become more livable for young people, giving them a better chance at success and well-being.
