Many animals are in danger of extinction nowadays. Some people believe that only animals that are useful to humans should be protected. I disagree with this opinion because all animals are important for nature and have the right to survive.
On the one hand, useful animals can bring many benefits to people. For example, bees help pollinate plants and make food production possible. Some animals are also used in medicine and scientific research. Because governments have limited money, some people think it is better to spend resources on protecting species that directly help humans.
However, I believe that protecting only useful animals is not the right approach. Every species plays an important role in the ecosystem. If one animal disappears, it can affect other animals and plants. For instance, if predators become extinct, the number of some species may increase too much and damage the environment. In addition, people cannot always know which animals will be useful in the future. Some species that seem unimportant today may become valuable for science or medicine later.
Moreover, animals are living creatures and deserve protection regardless of their usefulness to humans. Humans share the planet with other species and have a responsibility to protect biodiversity. Saving endangered animals can also help preserve nature for future generations.
In conclusion, although some animals provide direct benefits to people, I strongly disagree that only these species should be protected. I believe that all animals are valuable and should be preserved because they are essential parts of our natural world.
