It is true that, nowadays, a lot of urban centers traffic congestion and pollution problems. While some people tend towards the viewpoint that building fast ring roads on the outskirts of a city is a good solution, Iwould have to support the idea that this extent helps in some ways, but it also creates new problems.
On the one hand, there are clear arguments that ring roads can reduce traffic in city centers. One of the main reasons can be that these roads can take the heavy traffic away from the central areas. This means that the inner city roads
will have fewer cars, which can reduce traffic jams and pollution. Another reason can be that ring roads can improve overall traffic flow by giving cars another route to take. For example, in cities like London and Paris, helped to reduce the number of cars in the city center.
On the other hand, I agree with the viewpoint that ring roads can cause new problems. Firstly, I believe that building these roads can destroy natural areas and neighborhoods. This is because a lot of land is needed for such projects, which can harm environment and force people to move. Secondly, I also feel that ring roads can make cities spread out more, making people depend more on cars and drive longer distances.
In conclusion, it seems to me that while ring roads can help reduce traffic in city centers, they can also bring big environmental and social issues.
