Nowadays, online work has become common for everyone, because all workers work by smartphones, Ipads and Laptops. So most of the companies consider that it would be better if they will implement four-day workweek, to optimize work and mitigate the effects of daily screen work. I partially agree with this view, as online working offers flexibility, but they might be some negative consequences.
One significant reason why I agree with this view, is that workers will do their job at home. It will escalate efficiency because of special atmosphere without any discourages. Online work provide you flexibility, freedom and cost of savings, like when we work offline we will spend a lot of time, energy, money to get to your workplace. But it depends by your job if it would be some IT componies or Call operators of course, is relatively straightforward to work online because it more comfortable to them. Working 4 day in a week it would be better option than 5 because then it will increase productivity of workers and their freetime. Maybe they will work faster to have more time to laisure that be more effective than they do in 5 days.
However, it is important to consider that four-day workweek can be not enough. Companies may lose their money because of short workweek. For example if they take off 1 day, then workers need to increase their productivity and finish 5 day work in 4 days. When workers start to do it faster they will do more mistakes or something. Speed is not always synonymous with quality or efficiency and also with 4 workweek we would have dissadvantages.
In conclusion, advantages of a shorter workweek outweigh the disadvantages, but it will depends by the compony and their workload.
