Personally, I agree with the first notion.
On the one hand, some people argue that hiring athletes for promoting company products has positive effect on the overall world of sports and athletes’ life. These advertisements give a sense of popularity and importance in them along with new horizons of technology. In this way, they got ready to attend the national and international forum and ready to talk in front of audience. Furthermore, they also generate more revenue for their family. For instance, take Babar Azam as an example, he generates more than 20 million USD by just advertising the company products such as air pods, shampoo, and cricket pads. Furthermore, this activity develops a strong sense of responsibility to tak in front of camera and audience in them.
On the other hand, some people observe that this has negative impacts on overall athletes’ sports and life. This activity requires a lot of time and concentration. So, athletes don’t pay full attention to their prime responsibilities at national and international forums and their career will become at risk. For example, Indian cricketer, Viral Kohli, the legend of international cricket, got distracted in the recent years. He generated a lot of amounts by advertising but at the expense of his career and got unselected in playing squad in various series.
In my opinion, through advertising, athletes get fame and generate reasonable amount to excel in modern life. He should maintain the work-life balance without career loss.
