It is necessary to educate children to distinguish between wrong and right. I agree with this statement because it will help kids learn lessons and make them more mindful before committing wrong actions in the future. Thus, I believe mild punishment is necessary to shape kids’ behaviour.
Punishment can help kids realize mistakes; they will be more mindful. For instance, if a student is using abusive words at school to bully others, teachers should punish them to avoid such actions in future and shape the student’s behaviour to be respectful to peers. Likewise, unless parents educate kids on effective communication and good manners, there is a higher chance of developing bad behaviours; thus, parents should put a penalty on such kids.
Although Punishment is needed to educate children on the importance of morals, I think it should be thoughtful, not violent or cruel. For instance, young kids make mistakes because of immaturity; however, it is necessary to implement a small amount of punishment, such as going for a walk or doubling the homework, to compensate. As a result, they will remember the consequences before committing such wickedness. Similarly, parents can ask their children either to wash dishes or cut down leisure time in case of misbehaviour.
To conclude, many people use punishment to teach kids to distinguish right and wrong actions. I agree that kids should be introduced to penalties for their misconduct, as it helps them avoid such actions in the future and teaches them a valuable lesson. However, I think the punishment should be mild and thoughtful by just involving daily routines or doubling homework tasks.
