It is widely argued that country’s government should afford costs of healthcare and education of its local people. While, there are some negative points like reduction in quality and rivalry, and increase in tax costs, I do concur on this idea that it provides social equality and leads to economic growth.
One primary drawback stemming from making healthcare and education free is that quality of healthcare centers and schools decreases, reducing competition between various services. Rivalry loses in a place where everything is free. Private hospitals and schools offer modern technologies and expert to attract more people. Making healthcare services and education free leads to worsening the services
, decreasing motivation of teachers and doctors. Admittedly, free services are not originally free, but they are afforded by taxes which citizens pay. Making services free load overload to workers and businessmen. Some people find that paying for services which they do not use is not fair.
Despite these arguments, however, I remain convinced that making such kind of services free has some benefits. Initially, if healthcare and education be free, only the rich can use these services which causes social inequality. If governments provide all of these costs, children of poor people can also study in universities or schools and they may benefit to society. This not only provides estate equality, but also reduces the rate of poverty. Besides, healthy and intelligent population means strong economy. If government invest money for education, high-skilled workers be formed which benefit the country in the long-term
