It is widely believed that watching an event in person is more intriguing and appealing, compared to doing so on television. Although there are certain pleasures associated with following a live performance on TV, I personally agree with the mentioned belief.
On the one hand, following an event on television can be more entertaining to certain individuals, due to the comfort and convenience that their houses offer. Attendance at a live performance can have potential disadvantages, such as poor sight and distanced travel. In contrast, home-based people can still enjoy the performance with a great viewing experience and comfortable seats. Furthermore, in an attempt to prevent pandemics and security risks, watching from home can be seen as a safer alternative that still allows viewers to experience the event.
On the other hand, I am inclined to the idea that attending a live performance has much more delights. The first key point is the sense of immersion and unique atmosphere, which can not be replicated by television broadcasts. The energy of the crowds and the appearance of performers may enhance overall excitement. Another plus point is similar interests from like-minded people can be shared through social interaction in the live performance. Some may argue that social platforms can be a place for this practice as well; however, I believe that their effectiveness cannot be the same as that of direct meetings as these platforms lack a sense of authenticity.
In conclusion, direct attendance can outweigh television watching, considering the the iconic atmosphere and the sense of reality.
