The film industry has experienced significant developments from generation to generation, continuously growing to be a wide popular form of entertainment. As a result, people tend to spend the majority of their leisure time watching movies because they need something to do while also enjoying the culture behind it. However, I believe that this isn’t a good practice because it hinders their productivity in the actions they could have done instead to improve themselves.
One of the reasons people decide to watch movies is the need for entertainment. Some form of break or leisure is a necessity in the corporate world to reduce stress and maintain a good mental health, hence the reason why more and more people choose to experience these movies for themselves. Additionally, people also watch movies to experience the culture that the movie industry brings to them. By watching movies, apart from entertaining themselves, they also experience the unique and intricate ways ideas are presented in the form of a video. All of these factors further strengthens the growing demand of movies nowadays.
Despite all of the reasons people decide to watch movies, it shouldn’t completely take over their free time, even if they are enjoying it. Spending time on something, especially if it isn’t exactly productive, results in other activities getting less attention. For instance, this lack of attention means they aren’t improving themselves physically by exercising or acquiring new skills by taking courses, consequently resulting in a decline of productivity. These effects could have detrimental effects to a person’s life and therefore people must spend their free time properly to avoid these consequences.
In conclusion, people spend a lot of their leisure time watching movies to enjoy the art within them and to entertain themselves. However, spending too much time doing these activities could result in deteriorating effects because they prevent the individual from improving themselves in a meaningful way.
