Nowadays, education has become a major concern worldwide, especially when it comes to students. Psychological well-being of high school students have been compromised by mounting academic pressure. This severe stress is mainly caused by social pressure and excessive workload. This essay will analyse the problem and provide proper solutions from both parents and school.
Severe stress of students mainly stems from both social pressure and excessive workload. Firstly, competitive examinations make their days packed with many extra classes and assignments. These full schedules prevent students from resting and pursuing their hobbies. Experiencing them for a long time will make them burn out, causing many serious diseases relating to both mental and physical. In addition to studying, students are suffering from parents’ expectations and peer pressure. Parents nowadays usually compare their children with other talented people, and children themselves are exposed to constant updates about their excellency due to the increase of social medi. All of these contribute to fear of pressure, causing severe stress in schoolers.
Some solutions must be taken by both parents and schools. Instead of learning only text books, which are impractical and sometimes boring, schools should organize more extracurricular activities. This practice not only helps students unwind after stressful lessons but also offers an opportunity for schoolers to learn more important soft skills. Besides, parents also play an important role in the mental well-being of their children. They should not have expectations of their children , which only causes more stress and fear, they should accompany them in their study journey with supportive and empathic behaviour. Receiving all these assistance, students will be more motivated and rarely face stress.
In conclusion, this problem largely comes from family pressure and overworkload, however it can be figured out by the support of school and families.
