Band 6+: Many working people do not have enough free time off work to spend with their families and friends. Why? What are the effects on family life and society?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In this day and age, one of the huge issue that most people have to face is that they hardly have enough quality time with their families and friends. This essay will shed light on several causes and how this situation affects both people’s personal life and the whole society.

There is no denying the fact that the world keeps evolving, leading to an increasing demand of education and work for people. As a result, people may find it hard to disconnect from their work responsibilities and assignments due to a strong ambition of keeping up with the latest work-related development and promoting their personal growth, which possibly buries people[Possibly will bury ] in a hectic daily schedule without enough family time and peer interactions. In addition, technological interference is also a main culprit causing a lack of time availability for families and friends. For example, even on holidays, workers can still be interrupted by emails’ notifications or teleconference, which breaks their relaxing time.

The dearth of downtime tends to negatively impact people’s family and society bonds significantly. Obviously, family breakdowns mostly stem from insufficient family gatherings because each member does not share moments together frequently to get along with each other well. Therefore, kids raised with loose family connections are more likely to become indifferent and irresponsible in the future. Additionally, the whole societal development will be pulled down by busy citizens who are not willing to engage in social and communal activities due to their tight working timetables, leading to less close-knit communities but more civil unrest.

In conclusion, the rising work demands and technological distractions collectively create the destitute of leisure time, which will negatively influence people’s family and friend relationships by increasing the number of family separations and social disconnections.
