Nowadays, it is becoming viral for business to carry out meetings online. In my own view, this massive advancement gave chance to realization and conducting business far more convenient and profitable. This essay is going to show advantages and disadvantages of online meetings. Starting with convenience of conducting online meetings no matter the place, meanwhile trust issues or some misunderstandings during the call is worth to mention.
It is globally excepted for business to conduct negotiations and partnership conferences online via various apps and websites that enabled such conveniences. In the era of technological advances, enterprises have developed in the communication aspect which allowed them to expand their set of networks globally, which opened the doors for more opportunities. For instance, Google Co, was one of the pioneers of video conferences not only for business matters, but also for hiring employees. Even in the past century, with the invention of first telephones, entrepreneurs have realized the benefit of utilizing phone conferences over traditional face-to-face ones. These examples have proved that on-line meetings have long been considered a blessing for enterprises to thrive.
Meantime, it is not unknown that online communication has its negative sides. Unreliability and potential technical issues of online conferences make them unreliable way of conducting significant matters. Many CEOs of companies still resort to traditional, well-known way of offline meetings, because of possible misunderstandings during the business gatherings which, in turn, might significantly affect the company’s future survival. Without going far, recently, president of Uzbekistan, and US met together in the white house, for successful strategic and business-related matters, clearly showing one solid advantage of those.
Though, online meetings have advantages in the face of cost-effective meetings and which does not require individuals to be in the place, trustworthiness and reliability of offline meetings have shown as a solid benefit. In my opinion, in spite of possible conveniences that online meetings might provide, I would lean towards offline ones.
