In a contemporary society there is an ongoing debate regarding the increasing popularity of moving from countryside lands to urban areas. As a result, the number of village citizens will decrease, so it can lead to problems in the agricultural sector in the future and demographic imbalance. One of the manipulations to prevent the reduction of village population is to provide diversity of work places in the countryside as in the city and increase the income of agricultural land workers.
It is widely acknowledged that job market in the urban areas can offer more positions with high salaries, while in the village there is a lack of work places. A massive flow of countryside citizens to urban areas can cause the decreasing agricultural land population, as a result, there is going to be a lack of agricultural workers. Take, as an example, an ordinary village family is looking forward to inheriting the land to their children, while children would like to pursue a more highly paid job that is located in the urban areas. In addition, if village citizens will massively relocate to cities, there is going to be overpopulation of an urban area, which will cause some discomforts, such as difficulties in house rent, oversaturation of the labor market.
There are following solutions that can manage the ongoing problem: one of them is to raise the income of village workers. For instance, the salary of a landscape worker in the countryside will be the same or even higher as an accountant’s income in the city. The second solution is to surge the diversity of work positions in the village as in the urban area. Some of the countryside citizens prefer office jobs rather than land work, so the village authorities should provide them with the different work variations.
In conclusion there is an actual problem of massive relocating from countryside to urban areas. As an outcome, it can lead to numerous consequences, such as demographic imbalance and lack of agricultural workers. There are various solutions that can prevent the negative outcomes, the first one is to equal the salaries in both areas, the following one is to provide a wide work market as in the cities.
