Band 6+: Museums often contain objects of great value from ancient civilizations around the world . Some people say these items should be returned to their countries of origin . To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Many people are convinced that artefacts displayed in museums should be located directly in their countries of origin. From my point of view, I strongly disagree with this opinion, because valuable objects of some nations help others to learn about their culture.

The first reason why I believe that artefacts of ancient civilisations can be kept in museums in different countries and cities is because this way they will be accessible to more people, which promotes cultural exchange and a more informed society. For example, many people cannot afford to go to another country as a tourist to see these artefacts in person, but museums give them the opportunity to do so. Visual examples of ancient objects can be the key to a deeper understanding of ancestral cultures.

In addition, another reason why I disagree with this assumption is that historical sites can be subject to various threats ranging from natural disasters to human activities. Storing artefacts only in their place of origin can pose a great risk of losing these unique objects. Thus, distributing these objects to different locations around the globe can ensure that history is preserved for future generations.

In conclusion, I would like to point out that In conclusion, the placement of historical sites around the planet will not only help to preserve the common heritage of humanity, but also to enrich and strengthen cultural exchange.
