It is obvious that the topic of online communication among youth, so rapidly spreading around the world, cause arguments ans contraversies. Constant online communication might be harmful, but I believe online communication benefits the young more than it hurts them overall. Moreover, i thing the downsides are easily avoidable at least and are to get rid of completely if some dedication from their parents is applied.
While the disadvantages of the topic are harsh, hours of time spend online daily surely affects ones health, i don’t think they are impossible to overcome. Excessive time spent online might affect sight, posture and even mental health. So with number of people using internet and the number of hours spent using it daily both risinng, it is possible to spot correlation with skyrocketing levels of mental health problems, among youth too. But, since we speak about the youth, i think it is not too hard for parents to moderate the amount of time their children spend using computers and phones. It might be hard for parents to limit phone access, since children take it very negatively, but it is necessary since it is impossible to not use phone in the modern world. With right parental control, limiting time online communication used, the communication will not be harmful at all.
Benefits of online communication are, in my opinion, obvious. Young people constantly improve their communication skills communicating not with just their local friends but with people all around the world, and since world is so diverce, children tend to learn more languages these days, usually choosing spanish, french, german and asian languages. Besides communication skills, they improve their abiliies to process large amount of data, because the young people constantly share news, thoughts, and activities instantly. So they are constantly are reacting to large amounts of information, processing it and replying to it.
In conclusion i want to say that, online communication might be harmful without right parental overseeing. But with responsible parental control applied, young peoples’ way of online communication brings them nothing but benefits.
