This essay will explore why newspapers hold such influence and assess whether this is a positive or negative phenomenon.

Newspaper is the best way to access up – to – date news rather than other type of mass media. First and foremost, newspaper is credible and authoritative sources of information. This information verified by news agency and journalists are trustable. In addition, this credibility leads people to adopt the opinions and ideas presented as their own. For instance, Vietnam Television channel frequently cooperates with experts or professor to receive their point of view about political issues. Besides, apart from straight news, newspapers feature opinion pieces and editorials written by experts or well-known commentators. These sections are specifically designed to shape readers’ perspectives, offering insights, analysis, and personal opinions on various issues

Up to a point, newspaper have a positive effect on individuals. First of all, newspaper play an important role in informing the public about the important events and global issues, they help create a more knowledge society. Furthermore, newspapers serve as a platform for public discourse, enabling people to engage with different viewpoints. Readers are exposed to various opinions, fostering critical thinking and encouraging debate on significant issues. A prominent example of newspapers driving positive change can be seen in the Watergate scandal in the early 1970s. The Washington Post played a crucial role in exposing the illegal activities of the Nixon administration, through investigative journalism led by reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein
