It is true that in modern society, young generations indulge in spending their leisure time in shopping malls. Despite some certain benefits of this practice, I believe that it has an adverse impact on their future success.
Admittedly, spending time in shopping malls is a form of entertainment for young generations. Today, young adults are inundated with a heavy workload and usually have no day off on weekends. Therefore, scrolling, shopping and participating in a large commercial mall is a kind of escapism for young adults from stress of work or study. For example, Aeon Mall Ha Dong, a colossal shopping center is located at Hanoi, Vietnam. On weekends, young generations come here to enjoy cuisines of various unique restaurants, purchase accessories at fancy shops. Beside some shopping services, this place also has cinemas, karaokes and spas for citizens’ experience.
However, I believe that spending disproportionately time in shopping malls deprives young adults of money and time. Firstly, when scrolling in colossal shopping malls, youngsters easily encounter many exorbitant clothes and accessories which are presented meticulously. Therefore, it is hard for young adults to resist their temptation to possess fashionable items which are not utilitarian for them. If youngsters indulge in purchasing exorbitant items, this cost may detract hugely from their savings and put them in a financial burden. Secondly, in lieu of spending time shopping, young generations should acquire knowledge and hone skills. To compete for employment, young adults should leverage their leisure time to cultivate their knowledge and skills that may stand them in good stead for their career.
In conclusion, despite some benefits mentioned above, young generations should allocate less of their leisure time in shopping malls. Stints in shopping malls have an adverse impact on their finances, so they should consider to leverage their time and their money to succeed in their careers.
