Band 5+: One result of advances in medical care is that life expectancy has increased around the world. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

Scientific advancements are beneficial for contemporary society. Many individuals asserted that advancement in the medical field has proved as highly beneficial, while some contended that modern medical advancements lead to many problems for the nation. In my opinion, medical developments outweigh more disadvantages than advantages because these are intrupting life cycles.

First and foremost reason, why medical advancements are disfavoured because of decrease in mortality rates. Due to the increase in life expectancies, people have the benefits of long life survival. This in turn, leads to the problem of over population in the country because individuals’ birth rates are higher than in previous decades. For instance, medical facilities developments created the issue of over population in countries such as China and India. Moreover, with higher birth rates, there will be a need for more facilities for natives.

Furthermore,medical advancement lead to one major problem of lack of housing in nations. With the increase in population, there will be more demand of housing systems. Therefore, the government needs to spend a higher amount of money to locate individuals in society. Additionally, with over population conditions, the government will be unable in the distribution of proper resources. The price of most common use products will eventually increase and many people will be unable to provide necessary resources for their family. For instance, Pakistan’s population was unable to feed up their families because of an increase in population by 40% in 2020.

In my opinion, the increase and development in advance medical care are disturbing the natural lifecycle of nature. Every species has a certain life span, so people do not interfere with nature’s rule. It is beneficial to maintain birth and mortality rates all over the world.

To conclude, technical advancements are beneficial in many fields, but at certain situations such as a decrease in mortality rate can create many problems for a nation such as a lack of housing. I am in favour of supporting no laws of nature and to maintain rates of birth and mortality equally.
