Band 8+: Parents should encourage children to spend less time on studying and more time on doing physical activities. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

People hold the view that parents should urge their children to allocate less time to academic performance and pay more attention to exercising. Considering the importance of both activities, I partly agree with this notion as striking a balance between sports and study is crucial for a child’s future career.

Firstly, it is essential to acknowledge the significance of academic success in a child’s life. Education has been a key factor in shaping the necessary skills for personal growth, such as critical thinking, arithmetic, decision-making, and problem-solving. By being mentally fresh and inquisitive to gain new knowledge, youngsters are more likely to acquire these skills with ease and joy. There are numerous interactive activities that can facilitate this process, including exploring international cultures, practicing storytelling and writing, and developing a habit of reading books. These pursuits will broaden their horizons and enable them to see the world from different perspectives.

Secondly, physical activities offer numerous advantages that contribute to a child’s overall development. Engaging in sports or other physical endeavors enhances their physical fitness, strengthens their immune system, and promotes a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, participation in team sports fosters social skills, teamwork, discipline, and resilience, which are invaluable attributes for success in various aspects of life. Additionally, young people will undoubtedly find it fascinating if parents organize physical events for them at least once a week because participating in sports with loved ones is a great experience.

In conclusion, parents should indeed encourage their children to find a balance between studying and physical activities. Both aspects are vital for a child’s overall development and well-being. By striking this balance, children can enjoy the benefits of physical fitness while also nurturing their intellectual growth, setting them on the path to success in all areas of life.
