Currently, modern young people are doing experiments with different drugs. In my view, this is quite a widespread issue, especially in well-developed countries. Students, or even pupils, cause a high demand for drugs. Sociologists consider that their parents must pay attention to their children and their environment. Teenagers must be protected from any criminal influences. In this essay, I would like to try to give reasons and recommendations on how to avoid drug use among youth.
From my point of view, the main reason is a lack of communication between parents and their kids. Adults have to work hard and teens have become independent in their early ages. Some teenagers meet criminals or gangs, then they are influenced by bad habits, become narcotic dependent. In the end, they are completely not able to think sociably, and commit different crimes.
The other significant reason for spreading drugs is TV. It has a serious effect on young people’s psychology. Children watch movies on TV and some of them are keen on criminals. For instance, I don’t understand why the ‘Breaking Bad’ series is so popular. This show is about drug propaganda.
In conclusion, if I was asked what should be done to fight against narcotics, I would suggest families spend all their free time together. Parents must notice their children’s success and support them in difficult situations. Authorities must demonstrate how harmful and dangerous the drugs and criminals are, through education, social advertising, hot lines, or even anonymous communities. Of course, the mass media must be strongly censored.
