Nowadays, technological advancements have impacted on how people live and work. This phenomenon has benefits in career progression and work-life balance, while it can lead to loss of skilled workers in developing countries which can negatively affect them in the long term.
There are several improvements in this statement, as remote work allows employees work from the comfort of their home and also provides opportunities in career development. In other words, individuals can apply for jobs from different countries without relocating which increases their chances of finding better employment and a higher salary. This allows them to work and earn more, without leaving the city and staying connected with family members. Another major benefit is working abroad ensures learning new skills and career growth.
Despite that, it has some concerning points involving social isolation and loss of skilled workers. Meaning that, professionals leaving their countries result in slowing economic increase in their nations. Highly skilled workers are really important for every government. In addition, seeking employment abroad breaks ties with relatives and friends which can lead to social isolation. They may experience feeling of loneliness and lack of belonging which can negatively affect their mental well-being and overall quality of life.
To sum up, from my perspective, the ability to work and live across the world offers many benefits, including greater career opportunities and improves work-life balance. However, it also seems challenging for developing nations due to the loss of skilled workers.
