The traditional solution is to punish the criminals by putting them in prison. However, some hold the view that education and job can be more better for long-term solutions to lower crime. To a certain extent I agree that education and skill training is more effective to tackle crime, but it does not mean that prisons are not needed.

For example, people with proper education qualifications can find and secure jobs instead of turning to theft or illegal activities to earn money.
In addition, prison is not always an effective solution to lessen crime, whereas education can address its root causes. Firstly, many offenders reoffend after release because prison does not teach their any rules and regulations or skills to change their lifestyle . Secondly, education plays a crucial role in resettlement by equipping offenders with practical skills and knowledge. For instance, educational programs in prisons can help them develop new skills and increase their chances of securing a stable job after release.
