In recent years, the development of high technology has taken the place of some careers that people pursue progressively, and this trend is due to various reasons. From my own perspective, it is worth noting that there are both benefits and drawbacks to society. In this essay, I will demonstrate the advantages, disadvantages, and the reasons.
This phenomenon is caused by assorted reasons. First of all, using some machines or artificial intelligence can decrease the cost of the labour force because companies do not have to pay salaries to the robots and help them to settle down. For example, some companies use robots to replace humans in porterage. Secondly, Robots could improve productivity and precision because robotic can work around the clock without fatigue. In many cases, they are more precise and efficient than humans, especially in tasks that require repetitive or highly complex calculations, and it saves much time. As a case in point, in automotive manufacturing factories, companies often use automatic machines to do the spray painting section, and this will promote progress dramatically.
There are some positive aspects of using automation. While automation might eliminate some careers, it also creates new ones in areas such as robotics maintenance, artificial intelligence development, and data analysis. Meanwhile, it will drive education improvement on account of the requirements of talent. In addition, it will reduce the dangers. There are some high-risk occupations, for example, workers who clean windows outside tall buildings, and accidents have occurred frequently. It will decrease the risk if robots can be substitution.
However, there are some disadvantages. Firstly, robotization can provide some jobs; conversely, it will increase the rates of unemployment, especially for citizens who have only basic skills. To illustrate, staff who work in restaurants to take orders or do some cleaning will be replaced by robots, and they may find other careers burdensome. Otherwise, the high technology industry growing rapidly has caused individuals to rely on those technologies, and this will be the reason for human degeneration.
In light of the above, robots and artificial intelligence can boost society’s growth swiftly, but some drawbacks are inevitable. Using automation properly can lead to economic growth and greater prosperity for society.
