In todays modern world, the question of whether scientists and technology experts are valued more than musicians and artists has become a widely debated topic. While some people strongly believe that scientific progress is the most importantest thing for society, others feels that art and music play an equally significant role in our daily lives.
One of main arguments in favour of scientists is that they directly affect the quality of human life in very practice ways. For example, without medical scientists the diseases which kill millions of people every year would still have no treatment. Furthermore, technology experts are the ones who create smartphones, artificial intelligence and the internet which almost everyone depends completly on. Another convincing point is that governments and big companys spend billions of dollars on scientific research each year which clearly show how much modern society values their work more then contributions of artists.
On other hand, many people strongly disagree with idea that musicians and artists deserve less recognition than scientists. One major point against this view is that art and music affect peoples emotional and mental wellbeing in ways which no technology can replace. For instance, during COVID pandemic it was musicians filmmakers and artists who kept millions of people entertained and emotionally stable while they were locked inside their homes. Moreover, art and music have existed since beginning of human civilization, which suggests that they fulfill a psychological need that science simply cannot satisfy. Despite the fact that artists usually earn less money then scientists, their influence on culture identity and society is something which should never be underestimate.
In conclusion, I personaly think that both scientists and artists play a vital and necessary role in modern society. However I am inclined to believe that todays world unfairly rewards scientists more than artists, and a more balanced recognition of all human talents would definitely benefit everyone in society.
