Band 4+: Shops should not be allowed to sell any food or drinks that has been scientifically to be prove detrimental people’s health. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Over the last 20 years, there has been noticed an upgrowing tendency of producing products that are detrimental for people’s health. It is believed that selling any foods or beverages, which have the evidence to harm human’s health should be forbidden and I totally agree with this statement.

Firstly, pernicious types of foods, namely as fast food do not provide any vitamins and minerals, that is why people suffer from malnutrition problems. Put differently, eating junk food is just taking too many calories for getting almost nothing. For example, many individuals are experiencing cardiovascular diseases on account of such foods are of unnecessary amounts of salts, sugars and fats. Consequently, these foods merely lead to demolishing people’s health and high risks of death.

Secondly, sugary drinks like soda may cause several adverse effects, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol levels. In other words, these beverages have been damaging body starting from gastrointestinal tract and ending with nervous system. For instance, coke has been classified as a pipe cleaner recently in China, where coke is only sold in detergents shops. Therefore, drinks also do deteriorate our welfare.

Thirdly, drinks and foods can make addictions because of high sugar and these addictions are seemed to become more intense over the time. In other quarters, addictions are always transforming people into zombies and the overall performance is negatively affected. As an example of this researches has found that obesity is associated with an increased risk of temporary work loss and reduced productivity while being present at work. Hence, obsessions are one of the most problematic obstacles in life.

To sum up, all the aforementioned points illustrate that there are a lot of reasons for banning bad drinks and foods.
