Band 6+: Some believe that money for education should mainly be spent on better computers while others believe it would be better spent on teachers. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

One of the most controversial issues today relates to the expenditure on education. Whilst a school of thought advocates that governments should allocate more money for modern technology devices in education, other opponents state resources for teachers are more considerable and should be prioritized. In my opinion, owing to the effect of educators on children to their future development, this would be the most important investment for education.

On one side of the argument there are people who argue that a better focus on advanced technologies are necessary. The main reason for believing in that is to motivate students by providing more modern equipment and improving the efficiency of learning. By adding better computers to the school system, kids could have beneficial effects on their learning like approaching a wide range of information, learning materials which are very helpful when working on projects. Moreover, learners can have a better studying experience by accessing more flexible lectures due to using high-tech computers.

On the other hand, there are some significant reasons why money should be invested in teachers rather than upgrading computers, such as the quality of teaching and up-to-date new methods in teaching. Firstly, governments should use education funding to increase teacher’s salaries, which is their living standard and this will ensure the quality of teaching for students. For instance, if the earnings were poor, teachers could have to take extra classes then not pay full attention at school and affect directly on the children’s learning. Not only increasing the standard of a teacher’s life, but also updating new approaches of teaching to students. These approaches could be the motivation for students by finding interest in knowledge and skills and for further development in the long term.

In summary, despite some people believing that the expenditure for better computers is necessary, I believe spending on teachers is more specific due to the effect on children’s development.
