Band 6+: Some believe that practical skills are important, while others think academic subjects are vital. Discuss both views and present your opinion

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There seems to be an on going debate regarding which some individuals think that education institutions need to prioritize teaching practical and survival skills over simple academic subjects while others believe that the subject matter schools teach will serve more value to children in the future. Presumably, pragmatic skills will be of great use to kids in everyday life and assist them in completing tasks individually although they may lack in-depth academic knowledge that schools teach. Now, i will mull it over in order to lay my cards on the table.

First and foremost, some individuals persistently insist that practical abilities which include repairing their car, budgeting their finance and even knowing how to cook would help children to become more familiar with everything around them, making them more adaptable and capable individuals that are able to solve problems on their own. In particular, millions of people have suffered from the consequences of not having skills that would aid them in daily life such as not being able to change a tire, cooking edible food, or even managing their stress efficiently. As well this, you can’t use academic knowledge to it’s fullest if you dont own pragmatic abilities which furthermore compresses the chances of being a successful figure in life. It is all i have explained like the coin flipes over 2 sides.

When it comes to voicing my own aspect, owning academic expertise could brush up your possibility of dominating over others in the job market as companies and industries search for rather scholastically educated individuals. Moreover, academically knowledged people have prowess in many complex subjects which greatly contributes to the overall development of the world, raising the chances of break out discoveries. To cite my cousin as an example, he is highly educated and has collegiate prowess unlike other members in my family. Because he possesses a masters degree, the job market completely serves to him as he towers over all the other applicants with his impressive job description. This is the most reasonable paradigm.

Taking everything above into the last but not least conclusion, I evidently contemplate that even though practical skills are useful, it can be learned through other ways rather than school and shouldn’t be prioritized over academic knowkedge taught in school because having higher education leads to higher earning potential, personal growth and overall better quality of life.
